Return of the Newsletter

Greetings, [first name], from Future Medicine Now!

It's been a year since you've received a newsletter from Future Medicine Now. And what a wondrous and intensely interesting year! We're slowly catching on that this trend is not going to reverse itself. So we're adjusting to the increasing level of intensity and giving up the illusion that life will ever be the same. I'm sure you've experienced a similar version in your life.

A Gift

May we begin the return from this long pause with a gift? Please accept one of our favorite recipes as a celebration of what's to come. Those of you who have participated in "Dining with the Doc" have seen this recipe in a previous incarnation, but there have been some changes — most noticeably, its raucous color! Cerise, I'd call it. It's so delicious, and it works for so many constitutions that we want to share it with you. We hope this new version will delight you as much as it does us.

Another Gift

Next, we'd like to introduce someone who has been a gift to us. Mark Bernstein is our new assistant. Mark answers the phone, makes appointments and 'mans' the front desk, mixing herbal formulas and generally keeping the office and us running smoothly. We have dumped enormous amounts of information and expectation on his unsuspecting shoulders and he's doing a remarkable job of keeping his head above water. This has given us the opportunity to devote more time to the practice of oriental medicine and provide for the specific needs of our clients — and occasionally pull Mark back from the edge of the abyss when necessary. What a brave soul! Thank you, Mark.

What's to Come

2008 was a very full year, charged with relentless change and the demand to stay centered in tumultuous times. Although not yet noticeable in mainstream media, the politics of health care is heating up to the point of explosion. The intentionally quiet forces influencing health care in general, and oriental medicine in particular, were and continue to be an expression of the showdown between the factions of death and birth. This alone has consumed enormous amounts of time, energy, dedication, and financial resources.

The Move

Amidst the backdrop of attempting to shape what medicine might look like, our practice has grown. The changing needs of clients and the increased flow have stretched the capacity of our current location beyond its limits. On June 1st, we will begin serving clients in our new office at 2616 Mesilla Street Northeast. This quiet territorial building, shaded by lovely London plane trees, is paradoxically located in the heart of Albuquerque's Uptown area (which is experiencing its own transformation). Convenient access is not the only amenity you'll enjoy at this location. But we'll save more substantial announcements for a future newsletter. We think you'll appreciate our direction.

Much Love,
Larry & Sue
