Greetings, [first name], from Future Medicine Now!
Late yesterday morning I was on the phone, making some travel arrangements. Sue sat with her PowerBook on the coffee table. In the middle of my conversation, she jumped back from the computer as if she had been shocked — literally. I realized she was okay, but I was very curious.
When I got off the phone, she was clearly still in shock and I asked what had happened. She said, "Look at this." There on her screen, two weeks earlier than anticipated, was her name on the New Mexico Board of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine page: Susan Swanback, Doctor of Oriental Medicine, License #965. We hugged and hugged and hugged, and cried, screamed and danced around the house. Then we got in the car and cruised up to Ten Thousand Waves for a little celebration.
I can't say I've been "waiting" for this day, but the joy and release accompanying its arrival is immense, and the new web site has been finished and waiting for this moment for over a year.
To whatever degree you participate in the vision of Future Medicine Now, this event will have meaning for you. Things are moving very fast since the beginning of the year. In the process of rapid unfoldment is a multi-dimensional practice which defines good health, offers guidance in its attainment, as well as the wisdom to maintain it. Making all this accessible in a sensible way is a major goal, as well.
These concepts will be revealed as the year progresses, and it is our intention that they will influence, not only your health, but the state and direction of health care everywhere. We'll keep you posted as the pieces manifest, but for the moment, we're cinching down our seat belts. Stage two of this rocket ship is in the midst of ignition, and we are hanging on tight! Thank God we aren't in control...
For you precious souls who actually read this newsletter, I am keenly aware that I promised a Part II regarding infectious diseases. It's coming, but it's a much bigger project than my feeble mind imagined. Not to mention that there are just a couple other irons in the fire...
Congratulations, Sue, on completing a four year program in three years while working half time — a heroic effort, in outstanding style! What a lovely example of determination, surrender, surrender, and surrender. I am so looking forward to practicing in the company of your insightful diagnostic skills, your sensitive treatment techniques, and all the other valuable talents you're bringing to this endeavor.
Much Love to you all,
Dr. Larry Horton
