A Blog Future Medicine Now : : The Contemplation
|
Greetings!
Today, we’re announcing a new blog — Future Medicine Now : : The Contemplation. Like contemplation itself, the purpose of the blog is to examine, from many different angles, conventional medicine and what Americans perceive health care to be, and then to contrast that with an entirely different reality: Oriental medicine.
Most of us know so little about Oriental medicine — even if we get acupuncture regularly. And it is such an utterly different perspective of the life experience and life in this body, that, in truth, most Western practitioners of the medicine don't even get it.
This is a modest effort to change that. It’s a well-intentioned, yet naive desire, because for us, as a culture, to truly understand the medicine, our very worldview will have to change. And that will take centuries. Yet any one of us can take the journey whenever we're ready. Sue and I see the Oriental paradigm being played out each day in our own lives as well as the lives of others, in abuses of its principles as well as the rewards of its truth. And its profundity makes us want to share it. |
